Nashville Indie Spotlight *exclusive tracks

Nashville, TN, December 16, 2012 - In partnership with Tunecore, independent distribution company Tone Tree Music is releasing Nashville Indie Spotlight exclusively on the iTunes Store December 18. The digital album presents some of the best independent Nashville artists with newly recorded or previously unreleased songs. Beyond the Country and Christian genre domination in Nashville, and even other globally known stars like Jack White, The Black Keys and Civil Wars - there is a depth of talent making an impact from Music City. Artists like Mindy Smith, Trent Dabbs, Katie Herzig, Amy Stroup, Holly Williams, Matthew Perryman Jones, and more are recognizable touring and radio artists - and populate the soundtracks of TV, Film and commercials. "I worked with the artists on this collection of songs and promotion because I wanted to present a deeper glimpse into the music made in Nashville. The level of talent here is so broad on many levels and represents a variety of genres,” says Shawn Fowler of Tone Tree Music. “Many of the artists in this promotion tour globally, receive national radio airplay and probably rival LA in terms of providing the soundtracks for television and film. For these artists, there are no rules, no huge money behind them, no corporate entity calling the shots.  It's a community pioneering the new models of the music business. They are making great innovative music, building teams of talented people around them and changing the landscape. It's an exciting time to be an independent artist. Especially in Nashville, where it is a true community of artists.”
