As many of you know this past January I released my
third album entitled Chasing Greenlights”. Since then, I have been playing at various venues,college campuses, Christian conferences, and serving my local church (leading worship for
our young adult ministry called Inversion). God has blessed and provided me with many opportunities to sing on his behalf, write, and give my life away locally and globally for Him.
I have received many emails, letters and calls from you telling me how the music has been a blessing in your life. I now have an opportunity to take my music overseas, and I would like
to ask you to partner with me.
One of the most influential people in my life, is a former youth minister, Mike Shepherd. Mike served as youth minister during the time our family was located in Florence, AL participating
in ministry. For many years Mike and his family tirelessly gave their lives away through ministry in Florence. Presently, they are doing the same; this time however it is overseas in Brisbane, Australia. The Shepard’s have been located in Brisbane for the last couple of years serving as missionaries to a local church (West End, which is an inner city Church of Christ in
Brisbane, Australia). Mike contacted me recently about coming over and serving alongside their team and playing a concert for campers involved in a camp that West End provides for youth in Brisbane called Camp Orion and Camp Connect. Camp Orion is an adventure camp that challenges campers mentally, physically, and spiritually over the course of five days and teaches the good news of Jesus through the challenges. Additionally, Camp Connect focuses on discipleship and taking faith to the next level.
A group of current students from my alma mater, Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, will serve as staff and counselors at the two camps.
I believe this special invitation to go to Australia will provide great purpose to the youth and leaders of these camps. My goal for the week is to serve the students and leaders attending the camp, by sharing my music and building relationships with them as well as serve at theinner city church in Brisbane. Additionally, while in Brisbane I seek to encourage Mike and his family as they are giving their lives awaymissionally to the needs of the church and people of Brisbane.I would like to ask if you today if you would consider partnering with me to serve these camps and the inner city church of Brisbane. My role in this potential partnership is to serve and encourage. Your part would be to help me get there, and pray. I ask of your prayers, as I will
be working hard to prepare for this mission spiritually, mentally and financially.
